Adjustable Artwork/Picture Holder

Unique Picture Holder for Walls that are hard to  drill into or prefer not to scar.

Try drilling into River Rock. Four drill bits later and only one hole drilled we confessed that Pineola Presbyterian Church was not going to have their pictures hung in a nice straight row.  But...necessity being the mother of invention and with Gods guidance we remembered an old design we duplicated for a Bed & Breakfast in Asheville North Carolina.

Bill Erickson from the Hillside B&B in Asheville called me a couple years ago to duplicate an old style picture holder that runs down a hallway in his B&B http://www.hillhousebb.com  The design was fantastic for holding paintings of different sizes without marring the walls each time he wanted to redecorate.

   

These unique holders are composed of three basic parts.

  1. The horizontal rod the vertical hangers are hung on
  2. The vertical hangers that can be moved on the bar to accommodate any size picture
  3. The adjustable holder which locks the pictures in place.

Note: the thumb screws which should be tightened with pliers to assure that they do not slide locks the picture into place.

You will need 4 holders per picture and the best way to position the picture is to slide the top bracket on the vertical bar and tighten by hand, next slide the bottom one on and use a level to make sure the picture will be sitting level and lock it in. Then put the picture on the bottom holder and slide down the top holder and lock the thumb screw in with pliers to insure a tight fit.

Sometimes these forgotten methods are better than anything on the market today.

The benefits are almost too numerous to mention, however a few follow.

  •  Only screws or nails necessary are the one holding the horizontal bar up.
  • We will make custom sizes to fit your specifications.
  • A multitude of finials are available for the ends of the pole the hangers hang on.
  • Different size artwork can be hung on the same hanger
  • Thumb screws lock the pictures into place
  • Pictures can be moved, rearranged, or removed without drilling additional holes into the wall.
